Meet the Team
MIRA
Mira, the owner and founder of Paradise Pet Care, LOVES all pets! She is originally from Ukraine, but has lived in the US since 1998 and now considers San Diego her home. She grew up with a wide variety of pets – dogs, cats, bunnies, hamsters and even chickens! After graduating from UCSD with a Masters in International Relations in 2009, she decided to stay in San Diego working for an alternative energy startup and Home Buddies pet service. Her love for animals inspired her to start her own pet care company. This is how Paradise Pet Care was born in 2014. She loves the opportunity to always be around animals and working outdoors. With a great pet sitting team, pet loving San Diegans and so many beautiful beaches and parks in our city, this career is unbeatable.
SANDY
Sandy has been walking dogs, taking care of cats, birds, fish and turtles since moving from Massachusetts to La Jolla in 1999. In addition to loving and caring for pets, Sandy had an exciting career as a sportswriter at the Worcester Telegram & Gazette in Worcester, Massachusetts where he covered the Boston Bruins, the New England Patriots, Super Bowls, World Series and NCAA basketball Final Fours along with high schools and college games. Sandy has been able to continue his sportswriting career here in San Diego, where he is a freelance reporter for the Associated Press and MLB.com as well as working for the La Jolla Patch.com.
ALANA
Alana relocated from Seattle to San Diego in 2013, where she lives with her Mom and helps to take care of the family's adopted 17 year old chihuahua and 8 year old toy rat terrier, who are definitely Alana's fur babies! Alana has just over 20 years experience with pet sitting and dog walking, and as an avid outdoor lover, she truly loves being able to continue her position with us caring for pets in sunny Southern California.
CHRISTINA
Christina, California native, is the busiest pet sitter on the team. Dog walking, cat sitting, bunny petting and even reading to birds became her full time job. She is a part-time student at Mesa College but her days are filled with many hours of exercising dogs and petting cats and bunnies. She is very passionate about all the animals she works with and your pets will quickly start considering her their best friend.
HOLLY
Holly is a Southern California girl at heart. She was born and raised in Glendale CA before moving to Albuquerque NM for a time. Holly relocated to San Diego, Mission Beach, a few years ago and cannot be happier to be back near the ocean, sunshine and pet loving community. Holly absolutely loves animals, loves having them around her house and has owned a pet her entire life. Holly says, “I am so thrilled to have the opportunity to be around such wonderful dogs and cats each day while spending time outside in our wonderful Southern CA environment. I look forward to meeting you and your lovable pet.”

TEIA and her snake Chili.
Hello, I’m Teia! I’m a fourth year environmental chemistry major at UCSD, and I have joined the Paradise team while I am taking some time off of school. My heart swells up around furry friends, scaly critters, and all other pets alike; pictured with me above is my corn snake Chili. I have always had a soft spot for animals, and am thrilled to finally have work that allows me to care for them! I am passionate about ensuring that your pets and home are well cared for.
ALEX
Alex is a San Diego native who has a passion for helping others. Before becoming a pet sitter with us she cared for elderly and disabled adults. She is currently a student at the local community college as well as SDSU with a major in Speech Pathology. She has always loved animals and has an extensive fur-family of her own. Pictured with her is her dog Kinaya. She has experience with traditional pets as well as feathered and aquatic varieties. Her goal is to treat each pet she cares for as if it was one of her own!
Nikki
My name is Nikki and I have always had a passion for animals! When I was a little girl I had an obsession with birds and would constantly point them out when I was outdoors. As an adult, I decided that I wanted to work in the animal field. I started working at a local vet clinic and from there moved on to a career as an animal trainer at Sea World. I started with the birds, otters, and small mammals. This, of course, was a great fit since I always had a love for birds. From there, I moved on to working with sea lions, dolphins, and pilot whales. I worked there for a total of 12 years and now as a mom of 2 boys I have found a way to combine my passion for animals with my family time. I love caring for dogs, cats, and of course parrots!
TARA
I'm Tara Brennan and I have grown up with dogs and cats all my life. I would play, walk, and take care of them. I have gone on over 100 walks with Wag and done many pet sitting jobs with Rover before joining Paradise Pet Care. In the past 8 years I have dog and cat sat for my sister and other family members and friends and really loved it. Currently I live in South Mission Hills in San Diego and I am thrilled to take care of your pets!
CALI
Cali is a Vet Tech student taking night classes at Pima Medical Institute. San Diego born and raised, she moved to LA after high school to attend UCLA for over 2 years. During her third year she got a job as a dog handler at a boarding/daycare facility, and everything clicked. After countless major changes and years of feeling out of place, she knew she had to move back home and pursue her childhood dream job of being a veterinarian. Now she’s at the top of her class, on track to graduate by Dec 2020 and become licensed Vet Tech a year after! She started contracting with Paradise Pet Care soon after moving back, and is now gets always asked for various jobs for pets with medical needs. She volunteers at the shelters and is surrounded by animals 24/7 . Her life is dedicated to ensuring their safety and well-being in any way she can.
SAM
Sam moved to San Diego in 2013 after completing her service as a Peace Corps volunteer in Senegal, West Africa. She worked in the corporate world in the organic food industry for many years, and started pet sitting and house sitting for her colleagues and friends when they would go on vacation during this time. What started as a hobby has turned into a career. She’s a lover of animals and has grown up raising chows and pugs, those breeds are still her favorite. With her busy schedule she currently does not have any pets herself, but she will love and care for your fur babies as if they were her own. She looks forward to taking care of your pets.
SARAH
Hi, I’m Sarah and I’ve been pet sitting for over 6 years! I moved to San Diego for college and began pet sitting as a way to help pay for school, but over time it quickly became more of a passion rather than a profession. I love meeting new pets and making them feel loved and special while their family is away, and I pride myself on treating each pet as if they were my own. I have experience with pretty much every type of pet imaginable and I'm very comfortable with pets of all ages and energy levels!"
